Our Classes

One-Time Intro Classes are designed to offer people a chance to get dirty and try their hand (literally) at using pottery wheel. Sessions are two hours long and include basic instruction on how to use a pottery wheel. Sessions have limited space, so sign up today!

The Multi-Class Series is designed to give students an in-depth & hands-on learning experience into the pottery process. Offered in 6, 9, or 12 class packs, this progressive class runs in a 3-week cycle consisting of a throwing, trimming, and glazing class so students can learn each part of the pottery-making process.

Our Workshops offer an immersive learning experience where students can delve into unique techniques and hone their skills in these project-focused classes. With expert guidance from our instructors, participants can explore their creativity and develop a deep understanding of the craft while producing impressive works of art.

Kids Donation-Based Classes

At Clay on First, we believe creating accessible and affordable art classes for the youth should be a priority in our community. So, we are happy to announce that we are now offering donation-based classes for the kids of Long Beach! Classes are 1.5 hours long and will explore fun clay projects.

Private Classes are great for Birthday Parties, Girl Scout Troops, Family Gatherings, Corporate Team-building Events, Bachelorette Parties, Meet & Greet Socials, Networking Events and More!

Your child will journey through various pottery making techniques from pinching pots and slab-building, to working on a real potter's wheel. In an era of e-summers, clay summer camp allows your child to interact with other children and express their creativity!
